These terms are published in good faith and reflect how we actually operate. They have not yet been reviewed by Canadian counsel and may be updated when that review is complete.

These terms govern your use of Heart of the World Ukraine's website. By using the site or making a donation, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

Heart of the World Ukraine is a Canadian non-profit corporation founded in 2014. We are not a registered charity. Heart of the World Ukraine is a Canadian non-profit corporation, not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible and we cannot issue official tax receipts.

2. Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts in support of our humanitarian work in Ukraine. Funds are pooled and applied at our discretion across the programs described on this site (civilian aid, generators, vehicles, medical supplies, and rehabilitation). We make a good-faith effort to deploy donations efficiently and to honour any reasonable preference you note in the optional message field, but we cannot guarantee a specific use or outcome for any individual gift.

All amounts are processed in the currency you select at checkout (USD or CAD). Card payments and Apple/Google Pay are processed by Stripe. Canadian bank-debit (PAD) is offered for larger CAD donations.

3. Recurring donations

If you choose monthly recurring, your card or bank account will be charged automatically each month at the same amount. Recurring gifts continue until you cancel them. To pause, modify, or cancel, email admin@heartoftheworldukraine.com and we will action it before your next charge. We will email you a confirmation of each successful charge.

4. Refunds

If a donation was made in error, contact us at admin@heartoftheworldukraine.com within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it through Stripe. Refunds outside that window are at our discretion. Stripe processing fees, where Stripe retains them, may not be recoverable.

5. No tax receipts

Because we are not a registered charity, we cannot issue official charitable donation receipts under the Income Tax Act (Canada) or equivalent foreign tax rules. You will receive a payment confirmation by email; this is not a tax receipt.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to submit fraudulent donations, send spam or abusive contact-form messages, attempt to bypass our security measures, or otherwise misuse the service. We may block, refund, or refuse service in response to suspected abuse.

7. Content & trademarks

Photographs, copy, branding, and design on this site are the property of Heart of the World Ukraine or used with permission. Please contact us before reproducing site content beyond fair-dealing/fair-use.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The site is provided on an "as-is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heart of the World Ukraine is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any appropriate jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
